Urban Walk, Day Hike and Navigation leader, Hendrickson has decades of experience walking and trekking in Asia, Europe, Australia, South and Central America, and North America. A former climber, he has held several leadership positions with The Mountaineers (Seattle) where he now chairs the Urban Walk Committee. He is the principle designer and lead for the Emerald City Trail (aka Seattle Olmsted Circuit), a 120 km trail around the city connecting Olmsted designed or inspired parks, boulevards and parkways. Earlier careers included print and mixed media journalism, teaching and curriculum / assessment at elementary through university, and (currently) medical research. He and his wife live on a small, family farm with cows, chickens and a variety of berries, vegetables, grapes / kiwis, and fruit trees. Their seven children and dozen grandchildren are spread across America.
