Kent Schlichtemeier

Dr. Kent Schlichtemeier served for more than four decades as a leader in education. He began his career teaching middle school before moving to the high school level after earning his master’s degree from the University of Denver. He later joined Concordia University Irvine as a Professor of Education and Head Women's Basketball Coach, leading the team to consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearances. A two-time District Three NAIA Coach of the Year, he was inducted into the Concordia Athletic Hall of Fame. Kent earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from UCLA and is a co-author of the book Timeless Leadership Principles: Building Champions for Life.

Dr. Schlichtemeier recently retired from Concordia University Irvine after serving as the Dean of the School of Education and the inaugural Director of the Servant Leadership Institute. He still enjoys frequent opportunities to speak at leadership events, teacher conferences, graduations, and business seminars.
