The US Mail Steam Ship 'Central America, ' carrying over 3 tons of gold in the form of ingots as well as a large number of newly minted coins, sank off Cape Hatteras Sept. 11, 1857, with the loss of 426 people (of 578 total) , mail, & the treasure in gold being brought from the western gold fields. It was located and the gold recovered in 1986. Size: 8vo. 28 pages. Full refund if not satisfied.
