First Edition, First printing. Ref: AB 13226; Stam 5.10. The book was published one year prior to Peary's final attempt to reach the pole. The reviewer for Georgaphic Journal, [Sept. 1907] praises Peary's efforts and his use of the Inuit to reach his goals. Although the ship reached a high latitude of Ellesmere Island, the expedition was played by an epidemic (probably from diseased whale meat). After advance parties prepared the way, Peary was stopped at 84 Deg 30 min. by a blizzard. After sending back the advance parties Henson and Peary pressed on. Whether they established a new record as they claimed was debated.
