Gen. and Chief Engineer) to the inquiry by the House of Representatives as to when the works intended for the defence of Charleston will be commenced and finished. Mr. Macomb explains a delay in the project due to the unavailability, so far, of necessary surveys. Good, single sheet folded (severe mold staining on every page, edges browned, nicks & wear to edges, short tear across spine). Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.

Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. 2.25 x 4.75", slip attached to piece of lined paper. BOLDY SIGNED WITH "MAJOR GENERAL, CHIEF ENGINEER". Detroit native Macomb was promoted to Major General in 1828. He served in the War of 1812 and for his leadership at The Battle of Platsburgh Congress authorized a gold medal with his likeness.
