The action takes place on the train which starts from the Gare de Lyon, Paris, and rushes through France and Italy until it comes to a standstill in the terminus in Rome. Mystery novelist Ruth Alexander comes from Wiltshire and has travelled to many parts of the world. (This copy is no 382 in the Readers Library series, published by The Readers Library Publishing Co., and is based on the famous Gaumont-British film of Clifford Grey's play, in turn based on the original novel published by Arrowsmith (1933). No date, but 1930s. The is the scarce copyright edition, printed in small quantities. The reverse side of the jacket contains a valuable list of Readers Library publications.).
