Short digressive stories and sketches in the form of letters to the editor of "The Weekly Statement," all of them designed to inculcate the idea that it is a man's duty to buy life insurance. A (second?) selection of letters originally printed in THE STATEMENT, published by the Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York. An earlier collection, LETTERS, FABLES AND SAYINGS OF "AMICUS," was published by Mutual in 1897. Touch of rubbing to edges, a bright, near fine copy. (#117129).
