Bound in red publisher's cloth with blind debossed ornamentation on the cover and gilt lettering on the spine. Frontispiece is a black and white portrait engraving of Rev. Dan Baker. Also includes an appendix on "Interesting Recollections" and advertisements at the back. 386 pp. This book comes from the Burgin house in Mills River, NC - the oldest house standing in that community. Predominantly free from marginalia with occasional markings in pencil, and previous owner's name written on the front flyleaf. Hinges are strong and binding is sound. Thousands were converted because of his preaching and many were called to the ministry. In 1899, there was the establishment of Daniel Baker College in Brownwood, Texas. Thirteen sermons and an Appendix. 371 pp. Condition: Dark blue grey boards, blind stamped design on covers, gilt title on faded spine. Some spotting on front cover, rubbing and wear; mild corner wear. Previous owner's name within front cover, no other writing within. Shading and foxing with. Very Good copy. Hardcover. Zustand: Good. This copy of Daniel Baker's "Talk to Little Children" is a small clay-colored cloth hardcover printed in 1856. The outside of the book has slight wear around the head and foot of the spine and the remains of a sticker on the back cover. The end papers have darkening and some small tearing (see pictures for more detail). The inside text is in excellent condition for it's age with no writing, marks, or folds and some black-and-white illustrations spaced throughout.
