Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: No Dust Jacket. First Edition. This is a wonderful book, with a wide variety of articles on fish and their distribution, and including both lake and ocean fish. As befits the era, the book is replete with fold-out maps, detailed engravings, photos and charts. The title is preceded by the words "Part XXIV". but there is no indication as to what this means--were there 23 other reports also issued? That I doubt--the book is 525 pages in length. Among the major articles are "Shad Fisheries of the Atlantic Coast", by Charles H. Stevenson, "The Oyster Beds of Louisianna", by H. F. Moore, "Alewife Fisheries" by Hugh Smith, and "Mackerel Investigations", by J. Percy Moore, but these are only samples. The binding is dusty but sound, the pages are only lightly age-toned, and the only marking noted is a name stamp on the first page.
1899, Zoology, "Natural History", Washington Government Printing Office, Vol. XVIII, 576 p., good plus cloth with slightly cracked internal hinges.
