Wraps. Reprint. Facsimile of the Sixth Edition. [2], iv134, [2] p. Frontis. From Wikipedia: "Officer training refers to the training that most military officers must complete before acquiring an officer rank. A potential recruit becomes an officer cadet, someone in training. An officer in training can either be trained in a military college like West Point, or taken from the enlisted ranks. After this training is complete, the recruit in question becomes a fully fledged officer, taking on a commanding position in his or her military branch." Good. Sticker residue on back cover.

SB The 1940 part has 337pp, the supplement a further 73 with b/w illus and drawings throughout. To be accurate this book should have been titled â Handbook of the Soviet Armyâ , though the contents page refers to â The Red Army.â It begins with a short historical sketch covering the Great War, the Revolution and the construction and development of the post-revolution army, the Soviet or Red Army. There is a detailed treatment of the 1940 army in which the combat arms (infantry, cavalry, artillery, armour and engineers) and the services (transport, supply, medical etc) are described with organization, strength and equipment details in each case. Chemical Warfare is also discussed and, of course, the ever-pervading internal security troops, the police, Frontier Guards, Partisan units, womenâ s and youth organizations. The supplement provides an update on tactics and organization as well as illustrations of uniforms, badges of rank, service emblems and orders and medals. There are also pictures of guns, tanks and other equipment. There is a glossary of military terms and abbreviations (brush up your cyrillic alphabet) and a list of conventional signs. Even the Navy features in this book of the Red Army.

Hardcover. Zustand: Fair. 88p. Photos. Line Drawings. Original cloth. Spine & board edges rough. Fair copy.
Mint paperback reprint. 126pp. This reprint is a combination of three pamphlets on this weapon: two British Army Small Arms training manuals (1939 and 1942) and a short but very clear pamphlet sold at the beginning of the Second World War with simple but effective instructions on how to use the gun. The drawings in the text and the colour plates show how the gun operated, and how to strip and assemble it. The weapon itself survived in various forms from the 1930s to the 1960s in British Army service, and the 7.62mm version is still in use today.
