The author traveled worldwide with her Father - Dr. Henry Rose Carter - who originated the modern quarantine system and laid the foundation of the work that was to rid the world of Yellow Fever. Laura Armistead Carter collaborated with her Father and Dr. Wade Hampton Frost in the book "Yellow Fever, an Epidemiological and Historical Study of It's Place of Origin, with funding by the Rockefeller Foundation.
