Second edition. Octavo. xi, [1], 280 pp. Publisher's ribbed red cloth with gilt cover lettering, pale yellow endpapers. Small pieces missing from upper and lower spine. A couple of signatures a bit proud, a few faint pencil underlining to a few pages (easily erasable). A very clean and good copy.The author, an Indian, was converted to Presbyterianism by missionaries. He went to the United States for further theological traiing but soon returned home.He continued his studies with the English missionaries; and, in 1865, was licensed by Furruckabad Presbytery, and stationed at Futtehpoor. He died there in 1867. One of Dass' main goals was to make Christianity more understandable to his countrymen. mainly Hindus.
