Hardcover. Zustand: Fair. No Jacket. Wear to covers and spine, mainly edges and corners, corners bumped and worn, top and bottom of spine bumped and worn, sides of spine worn, rip on edge of spine join with back cover 3cm, and front cover 3 cm but appears to have been stuck down, internally in reasonable condition, pages crisp and clear but some wear to edges and corners, paper yellowing and a few small marks and stains on edges, rear hinge cracked and webbing partly ripped leaving back cover a little loose.

Publishers' red cloth with black titles to spine and upper board and publishers' monogram to lower board. Spine sunned. Edges rubbed with a few bruises; minor wear at corners and spine tips. Frontis and 2 leaves repaired at hinge with adhesive tape otherwise contents clean. No annotation or inscriptions. A good example of this sought-after title which is usually offered in poor condition.

About very good, light even soiling to the boards (a bit moreso to the spine strip) and with a small area of horizontal stains rear cover, some wear to the spine label. Foxing to the tile page and scattered elsewhere. Uncommon boxing title, the reminiscences of, chats with, and anecdotes about primarily but not exclusively British boxers and boxing during the jornalist's career from the 1890s to the 1920s. Includes chapters such as "psychology of the Ring", "Temprament in Boxing", "Superstitions and Punches", "trainers and Methods", "Sparring Partnets", promotion, boxing cinema, managers, "Coloured Fighters", "Humour of the Ring", etc.

Pullaw' to the front pastedown with remnants of blue tack to the pastedowns and offsetting to the free endpapers. Front hinge starting after the frontispiece. Internally firmly bound with age toned pages with spotting to the front and the odd spot throughout. Very Good. book.
