An early 20th-century revised hardcover edition of Robert's Rules of Order Revised, the authoritative American manual of parliamentary procedure, prepared by General Henry M. Robert, U.S. Army. This expanded Revised text incorporates decades of refinements to the original 1876 rules and…reflects the mature form of parliamentary practice adopted by civic, religious, educational, and charitable organizations nationwide during the Progressive Era and early interwar period. The book is bound in the original publisher's brown cloth with gilt spine lettering. The binding remains firm and square, with light rubbing and mild edge wear consistent with age. Gilt remains clear and legible. Internally, the text is clean and unmarked, with even age toning and no annotations or underlining to the text block. The front flyleaf bears a handwritten ownership inscription reading: 'Property of the 'Young Women's Hebrew Association. Mary Eisen (sp?) President.' YWHAs were prominent community institutions devoted to education, governance, and civic engagement, making this a historically appropriate and contextually meaningful institutional copy. No dust jacket was issued with this publication, as was typical for reference manuals of this period. A well-preserved example suitable for collectors of parliamentary law, institutional and nonprofit history, Jewish communal organizations, or early 20th-century American civic literature. Henry Martyn Robert (1837-1923) was a U.S. Army officer and parliamentary authority whose work established the standard system of parliamentary procedure in the United States. First published in 1876, Robert's Rules of Order became the definitive guide for conducting meetings fairly and efficiently and remains the most widely used parliamentary manual in the English-speaking world.
