Part 1 (Moyen Age): text missing, lacks plates 4,5,11 and 12 out of 12. Part 2 (Renaissance): Includes plates 1,2,3,5 out of 12, but no text. Part 3 (1574-1643): complete, outer wraps broken at spine. Part 4 (1643-1715):all text, all plates present. Part 5 (1715-1774): all text, all plates present. Part 6 (1774-1789): complete. Part 7 (1792-1799): complete. Part 8 (1799-1815): complete. Part 9 (1815-1830): complete. Part 10 (1852-1870): complete. A few plates have very minor dampstaining, as does the silk covered portfolio. This work describes in detail and in vivid color, the exquisite French feminine fashion from 1792 to 1870. Each fascicule is complete in itself and contains 8 pages of text and 12 color pochoir plates. Some age wear on wrappers, with most covers being detached, but present. Age-toning and moderate chipping along edges. Minor creasing, age-toning and closed tears along paper margin. The last 2 plates of the ninth fascicule are chipped along edges (not affecting pochoir illustrations). Text in French. Wrappers in overall fair to good-, interior in good to good+ condition.
