First book by the Jersey City poet and spoken word artist, a slim collection of verse written under the name "Juan" Hamill. OCLC notes 4 holdings (SUNY Buffalo, LC, Amherst Coll., Univ. Hand-sewn in printed wrappers. This is the poet's first book, marking her re-entrance to the New York City literary community after extensive global travels in Morocco, Nairobi, Egypt, Ethiopia, Europe, and beyond. Hamill's literary beginnings occurred alongside Patti Smith, whom she met in college in New Jersey, and briefly shared an apartment with in New York City in 1968 when Hamill moved to the Lower East Side. She is known for spoken-word poetry, and in 2014 published her first book of short fiction. This is from an edition of 100 copies, printed letterpress at the Oliphant Press in New York. The poet's first book. A bright, sharp, very near fine copy.
