Wraps. Zustand: Very Good. First edition. A small area of edgewear to front cover. Text in French, 24 pages. An exhibition catalog, November 21-December 20, 1973. With photographs throughout. This copy with brief gift inscription by and signed by Hiquily, in French. A scarce catalog; signed catalogs by Hiquily are rarely offered. Philippe Hiquily was a French artist and designer known for biomorphic furniture and sculptures. He was able to combine modernist design, insect physiognomy, and human sexuality, to produce unique Surrealist works. Philippe Hiquily is represented in many museums: Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum , New York, Smithsonian American Art Museum ( Hirshhorn ), Washington, Museum of Contemporary Art, Montreal, Musée national d'art moderne , Paris, Havana Museum of Modern Art, Saint-Étienne Museum of Modern Art , Nantes Museum of Arts .
