Hardback. Zustand: Good. John Leech; G. H. Jalland (illustrator). H. Jalland. With six colour plates and eight further plates. Front and rear joints starting, with boards holding firm. Internally, generally firmly bound though somewhat strained towards centre of text block. Funny foxhunting tale in the same vein as Jorrocks, this time it's Mr. Popple who retires and decides to move to a hunting country and set up a stud for himself. He has no idea of the whys and wherefores of the hunting field and it's manners and etiquette and through 20 pp including 10 full page plates along with opposing b/w drawings and text peppered with smaller vignettes, we learn just how much of a blunderous chap Mr. Popple Is.
