Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. 1st Edition. xv, 152 pp; 96 plates; 21 figs. Original cloth. Very Good+, in very good dust jacket (unclipped). Inscribed: 'To Eric Sexton/with good wishes/from/T. D. Kendrick/9/9/49'. Eric H. L. Sexton (1902-1980) 'was a great American bibliophile who assembled a celebrated library, most noted for its collection of incunabula. In this regard, Sexton obtained examples from presses in 114 different towns, including the first or only examples printed in Augsburg, Dijon, Foligno, Genoa, Cividale, Lauingen, Marienthal, Rougemont, Scandiano, Vercelli, and even Constantinople. Sexton had a great eye for rarity, such that he had seventy-eight titles in which Goff records only three copies, six were unrecorded by Goff, and three of his books were the only known examples. Most of his library was sold at Christie's in April 1981 (Donald A. Heald). Sexton wrote A Descriptive and Bibliographical List of Irish Figure Sculptures of the Early Christian Period (Portland: Southworth-Anthoensen Press, 1946). Signed by Author(s).
