(TRADE CATALOGUE-CARPETS) KOCK & TE KOCH. NEUMUSTERUNG. Oelsnitz: 1906. 8vo. Original burgundy cloth lettered in gilt. 91 designs in color, of which 85 are original gouche (some with "Spritztechnik" spray technology) and 6 colored printed patterns, all mounted on pre-printed sheets numbered 897 to 1007 (including 18 sides where the patterns have been removed and "frei" penciled in. The motifs range from classic oriental patterns to historic European patterns from the eighteenth century to the then-modern Jugendstil. The factory was founded in 1880 by Karl Wilhelm Kock and Fritz te Kock and wa dedicated to the manufacture of Axminster-type rugs. The company was nationalized in 1953 but was later returned to private hands and is now calle "Crescent Teppichwerke." The previous owner carried the stamp of the company a crescent with five-star and monogram KK - already in use in the nineteenth century. The covers show some wear at extremities; there is some offset from one design to the one facing in a few instances; and there are an occasional smudges or other marks, but overall in very good condition for an item such a this.
