Cloth. Zustand: Good. None (illustrator). First edition. A first edition copy collated and edited by Rosaline Masson, made up of works centred on the Scottish city of Edinburgh. Publisher's full blue cloth binding with gilt titles to spine and black titles to front board. As summarised in the works preface, "The extracts gathered in this book include comments on Edinburgh from that of Ptolemy in the second century to that of King George V. in the twentieth." A collection of prose and poetry edited by the writer Rosaline Masson. Masson was a prolific writer of both fiction and non-fiction, with her work ranging from novels, to biographies, to histories. The binding is tight and firm and both covers are firmly attached. There is some minor wear to the extremities including some staining to the boards and some darkening to the spine. Internally the book is generally clean and bright apart from some mild spots in places. The pages have rough cut edges. There is an ownership plate to the front pastedown. Good. book.

The Prospectus includes an order form, a note on the rationale for publication, a specimen sheet and a list of Contributors to the volume, including Stevensons biographer Sir Graham Balfour and the author Sir James M. Barrie. Rosaline Masson was a prolific writer of novels, biographies, histories and other works. She was the daughter of David Masson, Professor of Rhetoric and English Literature at Edinburgh University, and suffrage campaigner Emily Rosaline Orme. I Can Remember was originally suggested for the Robert Louis Stevenson Club by Miss Masson, in order to capture an oral history from those who knew the great Author. It was hoped that the sale of this volume would aid the club in the collection of Stevensoniana Bound in the publishers bright red cloth with gold title to spine. The cloth binding in a fine unfaded condition. Boards a bit bowed. Dust jacket Very Good Plus. Minor rubbing, one nick and a closed tear. Now protected. Internally near fine. With the heraldic bookplate of James Norman Methuen. The volume measures 23 x 15.5 x 4 cm. Each leaf measures 225 x 150 mm.
