They went to film the head-hunting cannibals of the Kirrirri Tribe along the Merauke River. Great photos and description of the lives of the Natives. 308 pages, plates (part double), endpaper maps. Interior of the book is clean and unmarked. Tight, square binding bound in an attractive, light-coloured 'burlap'-style cloth. Cloth is bright and clean and shows no wear. The dustjacket is complete with all text and front panel photo present, but with considerable edge wear, short tears, chips, etc. Acid-free tape applied is several place on the inside of the DJ to limit tears. NB - Postal Rates shown by ABE are often incorrect and are vague estimates NOT guaranteed rates. Rare original DJ. Price-clipped flap with small price written in. DJ spine shows slight sun-fade. DJ shows light soiling on rear. DJ shows rubbing along edges. Open chips along edges. Despite the DJ's obvious flaws, it is desirable in any condition as they just don't exist thanks to the cheap material used. The anthropology classic of one woman's humanizing perspective of local cannibals during a time in which the region was reprted to be rife with lawless, savage jungle men and headhunters.
