Soft cover. Zustand: As New. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 72 pages. Published in 2007. Retrospective collection of photographs. Limited Edition of 1500 copies. The first and only edition. 750 copies were distributed in the United States, the other 750 in Europe. There is no ISBN. The Limited Edition is now scarce. A brilliant production by Martin Parr and John Gossage: Oversize-volume format. Copper softcovers with titles on the cover and stapled at the spine, as issued. Photographs by Martin Parr (as "Obvious") and John Gossage (as "Ordinary"). There is no text. Printed on pristine-white, thick coated stock paper in the United Kingdom to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. Published by The Rocket Press London in conjunction with The Stephen Daiter Gallery Chicago. Presents Martin Parr's and John Gossage's "Obvious & Ordinary: America 2006". A juxtaposition of images in color by Martin Parr with black-and-white ones by John Gossage, the fruitful collaborative result of yet another pilgrimage, if that is the right word, to the inexhaustible American heartland. Documents the road trip to Memphis (to visit William Eggleston) by Parr (British, works in Color, is "Obvious") and Gossage (American, works in Black-and-White, is "Ordinary"). Parodistic of their own works and their eminent predecessors, it is an elegantly produced book that also happens, inadvertently, to contain some of their best work: The photograph as lucky, happy accident. "Obvious and Ordinary" is in the same vein, sort of, as such classics as Robert Frank's "The Americans" and Stephen Shore's "Uncommon Places". An absolute "must-have" title for Martin Parr and John Gossage collectors. This is a copy of the Limited Edition of 1500 copies. This title is a contemporary art photography classic. This is one of few copies of the Limited Edition still available online, is still in the publisher's original shrinkwrap, and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Copies available online have serious flaws. This is surely an accessible and lovely alternative. A scarce copy thus. 36 color, 36 black-and-white plates. Two of the most important and most influential photographers of our time. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER MARTIN PARR AND JOHN GOSSAGE TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). no.

First edition. Softcover. Published in an edition of only 1500 copies. Nowhere in the book is a mention of either Parr or Gossage but it was one of the worst kept secrets as to who the two photographers were. What is more ambiguous is who is "Obvious" and who is "Ordinary." The book was a collaboration between the photographers while they were taking a road trip to Memphis to meet William Eggleston. A clean very near fine copy in stapled wrappers. "Signed" /stamped by "Obvious" and "Ordinary" on the title page. The photographers refuse to physically sign the book so the stamps are the closest one can get to a signed copy.

Stapled Printed Wrappers. Zustand: As New. First Edition 1/1500. np (72pp), profusely illustrated in color and b&w. Limited to one thousand, five hundred copies only, this playful tome attempted to anonymously document noted photographers Martin Parr (British, color, obvious) and John Gossage's (American, black and white, ordinary) 2006 road trip to Memphis to visit William Eggleston. Charming, cheerful and revealing, it resides comfortably alongside such revered American travelogues as Robert Frank's "The Americans", Steven Shore's "Uncommon Places", and Jeffrey Brouws' "Highway". A brand new, pristine example additionally bearing Parr and Gossage's "Obvious" and "Ordinary" rubber stamps (due to the nature of the project they have decided to "stamp" rather than actually sign any of the copies) in black ink on the title page. Stamp "Signed" By Both Photographers. Photography Monograph.

Hardcover. Zustand: As New. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: As New. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 128 pages. Published in 2005. Memorial Exhibition Monograph. One of the best monographs on the photographic art and achievement of Andre Kertesz ever published in our time. Limited Edition of 900 copies. There is no ISBN. The Limited Edition is now scarce. A brilliant production by Stephen Daiter Gallery and David W. Williams: Oversize-volume format. Gray cloth boards with facsimile of Andre Kertesz's signature embossed on cover and silver titles embossed on spine, as issued. Photographs by Andre Kertesz. Introduction by Stephen Daiter. Essay-Contributions by various scholars, colleagues, artists, curators, photographers, friends, and collectors. Printed on pristine-white, Mohawk Superfine stock paper by Meridian Printing Greenwich in the United States to the highest standards. The reproduction quality is exemplary in every respect. In publisher's original shrinkwrap. In pictorial DJ with white titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name held at the Stephen Daiter Gallery Chicago from March 11 through May 28, 2005. Presents "Andre Kertesz: Observations, Thoughts, Reflections". One of the most moving and singular tributes to the art of Andre Kertesz. Twenty-seven contributors were invited to choose their favorite Kertesz photograph, and then to write about it. These are not self-indulgent, lazy pieces. As Daiter notes, the vintage images assembled showcase Kertesz's visual sensibility and genius. "Some of the photographs are Classically familiar while others are refeshingly obscure. Each of the contributors shared his or her time and talents enthusiastically. The juxtaposition of image with text resulted in a sparkling mixture of memory, emotion, and scholarship" (Publisher's blurb). Some of the contributors include Katherine Bang, Paul Berlanga, Keith Davis, Willem Diepraam, John Gossage, Robert Gurbo, Martin Parr, Sylvia Plachy, Gary Schneider, David Travis, and seventeen other "testimonees" to Andre Kertesz's greatness. To honor Kertesz with observations, thoughts, and reflections is to honor him at the deepest level: He was a great artist because he was a conscious dreamer. This is the third in a trilogy of books on Andre Kertesz by Stephen Daiter Gallery, a culmination that began with "The Mirror As Muse" and was followed by "New York State of Mind". An absolute "must-have" title for Andre Kertesz collectors. This is a copy of the Limited Edition of 900 copies. This title is a contemporary art photography classic. This is one of few copies of the Limited Edition still available online, is still in the publisher's original shrinkwrap, and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Copies available online have very serious flaws. This is surely an accessible and lovely alternative. A rare copy thus. 27 plates. Andre Kertesz's "Day of Paris" was selected as one of the greatest photography books in "The Photobook". One of the greatest photographers of the 20th century. A fine copy.
