pp.304 with colour plates, b/w. photos., and illus. 8vo. Nr. fine hardback in nr. fine dw. Not price clipped. Loosely inserted is a very interesting and detailed four-page handwritten letter from Lt. Col. G. Michael F. Prynne (dated 1961) to H. Smith (Cropwell Bishop) discussing details of the egg of a White Shouldered Eagle Smith had sent him to repair. Prynne also explains the difficulties he is having in getting his book Egg-shells published alongside its content. Also loosely inserted is the invoice for the repair of said egg. A very thorough work in which Prynne explains all my methods in great detail with diagrams & photos & so on. It also covers subjects such as the Pros & Cons of collecting; The Legal Aspect, Relevant extracts (on collecting) from the Protection Act; the Egg in all its aspects, formation; shell colouration, shape, defects, etc, etc (taken directly from the enclosed letter).
