Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. First Edition. Volume 58, Number 6; 178 pages; Clean and secure in original glossy pictorial wrappers slight curling at corners of front wrapper. Cover by Lucas Samaras. Issue features a wonderful original offset lithograph by Robert Rauschenberg printed at Triton Press. Feature article: Autopolaroid by Lucas Samaras. Samaras was born in Kastoria, Greece. He studied at Rutgers University on a scholarship, where he met Allan Kaprow and George Segal. Samaras participated in Kaprow's "Happenings," and posed for Segal's plaster sculptures.[2] Claes Oldenburg, in whose Happenings he also participated, later referred to Samaras as one of the "New Jersey school," which also included Kaprow, Segal, George Brecht, Robert Whitman, Robert Watts, Geoffrey Hendricks and Roy Lichtenstein. Samaras previously worked in painting, sculpture, and performance art, before beginning work in photography. He subsequently constructed room environments that contained elements from his own personal history.[3] His "Auto-Interviews" were a series of text works that were "self-investigatory" interviews.[4] The primary subject of his photographic work is his own self-image, generally distorted and mutilated. He has worked with multi-media collages, and by manipulating the wet dyes in Polaroid photographic film to create what he calls "Photo-Transformations." ; Art and Art History, Prints, Most Recent Listing.

Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. First Edition. Stated first edition of the stunning and comprehensive exhibition catalog that documents Robert Rauschenberg's revolutionary "Combines" created between 1954 and 1964, works that broke down the boundaries between painting and sculpture and marked a pivotal development in 20th-century art. The book accompanied a traveling exhibition of the same name that originated at MOMA in New York in 2005, bringing together many of Rauschenberg's large-scale works that were rarely shown together due to their size and fragility. 170 plates, most in full color. 318 pages; 12.5" x 10.25." Near fine copy with age toning on page edges in very good dust jacket. Extra postage required due to book size/weight.

Erstausgabe
Paperback. Zustand: Very Good +. First Edition. [32]pp. Slim 12mo [18 x 11cm]; saddle-stapled in original printed wraps. Decorative strip of paper (obi-strip-like) stapled to the front cover which wraps around to the back cover. This strip of paper has three blank music bars printed on it and has various small colorful bits of fibrous material glued onto it. Sewn paper ribbon page marker also stapled to the front cover. Internal pages are photomechanically printed on plain light blue paper. Three of the internal pages have additional pieces of white paper tipped-on, which have black and white photographs printed on them (these appear on page [2] (Hilda Shum's contribution) and on pages [30-31] (Christopher Rauschenberg's contribution). Also, laid-in at pages [31-32] is a tiny piece of paper that looks like a paper fortune (as in from a fortune cookie) which reads: "You will enjoy peace and harmony in your home." The rear inside cover has a small ink stamp on it (which reads: "Support Your Local Small Museum). The rear inside cover also has a small business-sized card mounted onto it, which is illustrated and printed ("Manitoba Museum of Finds Art | Member in Good Sitting"). This copy is clean, showing only a few light bumps, and the occasional soft crease or light smudge. A nice copy of this fragile, ephemeral work. Fascinating anthology publication that contains literature, art, poetry, photographs, and illustrations ? largely constructed by hand and with care. Guest Editor: Alberta Mayo. Cover by Joanne Rruff. Contributors: Robert Allard, Wendy Cadden, Judy Grahn, George Herms, Louis Hock, Sol LeWitt, Sandra McKee, Jim Nisbet, Christopher Rauschenberg, Joanne Rruff, Hilda Shum, Louise Steinman, and Charley Wong.
