Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Wear marks overall.

Original Beige Buckram H'cover. Zustand: Very Good. Second Edition - Revised and Enlarged. 1904. Second edition, revised and enlarged with a new preface. ix, 65pp. Top edge gilt. The author was minister in St. Andrew's church, Falkirk. After a substantial introduction on the origins and history behind place names in general, this book contains an alphabetical list of the chief place names in Stirlingshire with something of their history and the meanings behind them. The book is bound in the original brown buckram covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and a little faint damp spotting on the boards. The spine is very slightly faded. The contents are tight and clean with some scattered light foxing. The title page and last few pages are a bit more heavily foxed and there is also foxing on the fore edge of the text block. There is no inscription.
