Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. Fourth Edition. This is a hardcover 1849 lea & Blanchard edition in the brown blind stamped binding typical of 1849. The back strip is replaced with a generic brown spine, otherwise a VG copy. Table of contents is at the rear. 339 pages plus a Lea & Blanchard catalog at the rear. Laid in is a most interesting receipt for $10 for treating the Boy Orvil for Gonorrhoea in 1856 by Dr. Henderson. I suspect that boy Orvil was a slave. A case for the history detectives.
