[Fantasy novel] FIRST EDITION. Omnia Press (Scottish) edition. Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.636; [2]. Publisher's pictorial paper-covered boards and matching dust-jacket illustrated by Giles Greenfield, priced at £14.99. No inscriptions. Trivial toning to text block, one closed tear to top of wrapper. A near fine copy in like wrapper. The first edition print run for Goblet of Fire was divided between Richard Clay (England) and Omnia Press (Scotland). In reality the great majority were printed by Clay, and those copies from Omnia Press were restricted to sale in the author's adopted home country of Scotland, with some copies also appearing in Ireland. These are now sought after and are proving difficult to find.

[Fantasy] FIRST EDITION, FIRST IMPRESSION, third state (see below). Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.317; [5]. Publisher's pictorial hardcovers in dust-jacket illustrated by Cliff Wright, priced at £10.99. A lovely fine copy with the usual speckling to the endpapers (poor paperstock was chosen). Shows extremely well. The first state states 'Copyright Joanne Rowling' on the copyright page, whereas the second and third state are amended to 'J.K Rowling'. The first state also has a misaligned text block 'burnt (drop) so much' p.7, which is corrected in the subsequent states. Second and third state identical but for adverts included at the rear of the third issue. All three states feature full strike-line numbers and are therefore 'states' rather than separate impressions.
