Erstausgabe
Wraps. Zustand: Wraps Dusty. First Edition. 15 issues published in 1924-1925. Enclosed in handsome linen box which has the label "The Journals of Abner Sanger" affixed.
Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good -. Photocopy. Cover has minor wear/marks; pages are not all in chronological order, not sure if all pages are included; and some pages are difficult to read due to the copying - photocopied in the old style with white lettering on black background, such as was done circa 1940-50's. Bound photocopy of the noted diary of ABNER SANGER (1739-1822), son of Eleazer and Mary (Jackson) Sanger, was born in Hardwick, Mass., and came to Keene around 1752. With his brothers he served in the French and Indian War (1759-1760), marched with the Keene militia at the Lexington alarm (1775) but became a Tory and was twice imprisoned for his opinions. He lived with his mother and unmarried sister until, at the age of fourty-four, he married Elizabeth (Johnson) Meed, a widow with three children. Abner and Elizabeth had seven children, five of whom survived. Most of their married life they spent in Dublin but after the death of Elizabeth in 1799 Abner lived with various of his children in Sullivan, Gilsum and Keene. Abner Sanger kept a journal, the surviving parts cover the years 1774-1782 and 1791-1794. (SOURCE: Book "Very Poor and of a Lo Make. The Journal of Abner Sanger." ). Book.
