Es erlebt bis 1781 sechs Auflagen. - Scheffelt (1652-1720) hielt Vorlesungen über Arithmetik und Geometrie in Ulm, 1717 wurde er zum "Lector Arithmetices" ernannt. Mit seiner Beschreibung des Proportionalzirkels steht er in der Tradition von Galilei, Bernegger und Goldmann. Beide Werke sehr gut erhalten. Die erste Tafel des Pes Mechanicus am rechten Rand mit ca. 3 mm Darstellungsverlust. Tafel 2 an einer Stelle mit Japan hinterlegt, wie auch das Frontispiz am Oberrand.
