Marbled endpapers and page edges. Boards edgeworn with scuffing to leather at corners, nudging and some shallow splits at spine ends, and some general scuffing and smudging. Front endpaper of first volume cleanly separated but laid in. Boards open easily but binding is secure. Gift inscription dated 1880 on second colume flyleaf and a couple stray instances of pencil checks in margins, else text clean.
