Zustand: Good. In Chinese, with English translations for captions on artwork. 1994 signed and inscribed first edition, Du xiang (Kaohsiung, Taiwan), 7 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches tall paperbound, copiously illustrated with full color photographs of artwork, [40] pp. Slight soiling and moderate rubbing and edgewear to covers. Nicely inscribed and signed by the artist on the title page. One page with slight creasing and a couple of instances of slight marginal soiling. Otherwise, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked - of this uncommon exhibition catalog, especially rare signed by the artist. OCLC (No. 818537204) has a listing but locates no copies at institutions worldwide. ~II~ Featuring the 'Mickey Mao series' of works by artist Tu-2, exhibited in Belgium, Los Angeles and Taipei, termed by critics 'a tour de force of bold revolutionary art.' Tu-2 (Tu Ying-Ming, or English: Ying-Ming Tu) is a visual fine artist who focuses on painting, photography and documentary films. Born a Gemini - hence his self-given nickname, 'Tu-2' (pronounced 'Tutu' or 'too too') - to a Hakka family in Taiwan, Tu-2 was infatuated with faces at a young age, influenced by the Taiwanese puppet shows.
