Zustand: Fair. 1903. No Edition Remarks. 44 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth. Black and white illustrations and photographic plates throughout. Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages remain attached. Pages and plates have light tanning and foxing throughout. Pencil inscription to front pastedown. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends.

Cloth. Zustand: Good. W. Galsworthy Davie; H. Tanner (illustrator). A detailed and copiously history of Old English Doorways, from the end of the fifteenth century to the eighteenth century. This work contains extensive descriptive and historical notes, with thirty four drawings and sketches by the renowned British architect Henry Tanner. The work also contains seventy plates reproduced in collotype from photographs specially taken by W. Galsworthy Davie. In a red cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine and front board. Externally, generally smart, lightly rubbed in places. There is some fading to the extremities. Internally, binding is loosening in places. Frontispiece is loose, as are several other pages. Pages are generally bright and clean. There is an ink inscription to the front pastedown. Good. book.

This work focuses on British architecture, in particular the entryways of English residences.Written by Sir Henry Tanner (1849-1935), a British architect who also wrote works such as 'English Interior Woodwork; and 'Some Architectural Works of Inigo Jones'.Complete with seventy full plate photographs, as well as a number of vignette illustrations. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart, spine is a little cocked and faded, with some bumping to the head and tail. Ownership inscription in pencil to the front pastedown. Internally generally firmly bound, bar the frontispiece and plates 17-41 and 69, which are loose but present. Pages are bright and clean with just the odd spot. Good. book.
