Signed by Wakefield below the colophon. 6 full page signed etchings along with 8 smaller etched head and tail pieces; exquisite work backed in tan calf with marbled paper over boards and an engraved title pastedown with etching on the upper cover. This is a recollection of the artist's fishing trips in the few years preceding publication. Tench Fisher is Wakefield's first book, closely followed with a more modest but equally impressive revision of Cutcliffe's classic, The Art of Trout Fishing on the Rapid Streams (1982). Beschreibung: Chevington Press, 1985. Complied and illustrated by D.R. Wakefield. Folio-sized sheets of Barcham handmade paper printed with text or an etching/aquatint, sometimes both. The text was printed on an Albion Hand Press c.1860 and the illustrations on a different press of similar date. The anthology itself comprises 33 sheets including the title and colophon sheets. 100 copies of this set of sheets were printed. This copy is one of the last ten (no. 91), with which were included another 20 sheets, one for each of the illustrations in the anthology, each marked 1/10 and signed by the artist in pencil. This copy also has a third section comprising a unique selection of working proofs at various stages, there are 13 sheets in this selection. The whole is enclosed in a custom made green leather and oatmeal cloth box. The box has a little scuffing to the corners of the cloth and a small split to one end of a leather joint but is otherwise in very good condition. The prints are all in fine condition save for five of the sheets in the anthology which have been repatriated to the collection from picture frames, these all have some sign of their life in a frame ranging from subtle light fading of the paper to a couple which have been folded. One of the working proof sheets has also come from a frame and has a light tanning to the paper where it was exposed to light. Size: Folio.
