Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. Rare example of John Hassall's wonderful abilities, made even rarer by the signature. This is in pencil, on the title page. This charming and beautifully produced book has a great chamfered edged buckram binding. Classic drawings throughout, and scarce in any condition, this is a clean and complete book in a tight and firm binding. Untrimmed edges to the text block. A former owner's blind stamp on the foxed front end paper is a tiny fault. The rest of the book is on high quality art paper, so there is no other foxing. No marks other than the desirable one of the artist's signature, not ex library, a marvellous collectable of the great John Hassall's work.
