Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Book condition is very good. Soft cover. No dust jacket. 1st edition. Front and back clean with crease on front from top to bottom on left-hand side. Text body clean. Book block clean. Spine intact. Over-all still a great and neat copy. The first part of the book deals with the discovery of Coolgardie in 1892 and the prospecting of the surrounding country up until 1985. The discovery led to people flocking to Western Australian from interstate and overseas. The population of the State quadrupled and the potential of Western Australia became known to the world. Coolgardie was a base from which men prospected to the east and north; their discoveries led to the development of thriving mining townsites. The wealth of the state multiplied a hundredfold. The second part of the book contains descriptions of different areas which make up the vast expanse of the Western Australia Goldfields. The discovery of gold near Cue in 1892 is included, together with a story of modern dryblowing in the districts.

Soft Covers. Zustand: VG+. No Jacket. Photos (illustrator). 1st. The author's interest in the goldfields of Western Australia was ignited when he was given historical photograhs from the area's early mining days, dating back to 1865. He then began researching the Coolgardie goldfields, from their discovery in 1892 up to the mid-1980s. This study forms the first part of the book, with the secod devoted to the different zones making up the Western Australian Goldfields, which cover a vast area. Sub-titled "The Western Australian Goldfields 1886-1985" this is a fine reference work, following history up to contemporary times.
