During the months Lafayette's letters from Lagrange and elsewhere were replete with expressions of satisfaction at the success with which the American people had confronted and had apparently resolved their several problems. Many of these letters have been published and when this letter came in to Carl Wheat's hands he wished to reproduce the contents. The sentiments which this letter expresses are especially appropriate. Condition corners bumped, some edge wear else a very good copy.
