Zustand: Fair. Third Edition. 278 pages. No dust jacket. Illustrated brown cloth with a colour illustrated frontis. There is also black and white and colour illustrated plates throughout. Moderate tanning to pages with heavier tanning to pastedowns and endpapers. Visible foxing and tanning to text block edges and both hinges are cracked with exposed netting. There is cracks to guttering with exposed netting and binding is loose. Boards have minor rubbing and mild bumping to corners. Soft crushing to spine ends and visible sunning to spine.

Original beige cloth, backstrip titled in blue and brown, front cover titled in blue and decorated in blue, dark blue, brown and yellow. Backstrip faintly toned, backstrip lettering lightly rubbed. Front cover with unobtrusive closely-spaced ingrained pen or pencil lines of lengths about 3" (7.5cm) beneath one section of decoration, rear cover faintly marked towards upper edge. No dust jacket. Edges of text-block toned, top edge also faintly marked. Three-line gift inscription dated 1941 on front pastedown. Binding holding firmly and still of pleasing appearance, contents clean and tight.
