Leather. Zustand: Poor. Illustrated by Steel, Wood Engravings (illustrator). 1st ed. 8vo, 400pp, Red morrocco covers with gold gilt lettering on spine and front covers, steel engravings, in-text wood engravings. Covers rubbed, especially along the edges and spine with some loss of leather. All edge gilt, tissue protected steel engravings. The engravings and tissue paper are foxed. Front hinge weakening but still a fairly tight copy. This is a pre Chicago Fire imprint, comprised of mostly inspirational (i. E. Christian) essays, poetry and literature much of it written by women authors. Despite the its flaws, it is still a nice example of both period womens' writing and of a Pre Chicago Fire imprint. FAIR to GOOD-; worn covers, some foxing and staining.
