Da es jedoch in einigen Kernkraftwerken zu Leckagen gekommen ist und kuerzlich Betriebserfahrungen mit Nadellochleckagen an BMI-Anordnungen am unteren Kopf des Reaktordruckbehaelters (RPV) im South Texas Project (STP) (April 2003) gemacht wurden, besteht zunehmende Besorgnis. Nach diesem Vorfall wurde 2013 ein aehnlicher Zustand in Palo Verde Unit 3 festgestellt. Daher wurde in diesem Buch ein systemtechnischer Ansatz fuer die Entwicklung eines Fernpruefsystems fuer BMI-Duesen eingefuehrt. Das vorgeschlagene BMI-Duesenpruefsystem, bei dem die Innenteile des Reaktordruckbehaelters (RPV) nicht entfernt werden muessen, ermoeglicht die Erstellung von Trenddaten und erleichtert die fruehzeitige Erkennung von Schweissnahtfehlern, wodurch Leckagen an der BMI-Duese und der Schweissnaht verhindert werden koennen.
