It also shows the core time zones for any location in the world given GMT. The chloropleth qualities make it most attractive. This map was printed in March of 1947. In September of that year the U.S. Air Force was spun off from the U.S. Army.

This is a very nice chloropeth map showing vegetation zones as determined by resources of Goode, Schlepper, Schreves, Rand McNally, Taylor and others. The single hemisphere plays out well to northern South America. In context of the post WWII environment, there is very little at play. As would not be expected the terms of glovbal warming could be benchmarked with a vegetation map from pre-United Nations sources.

This was probably one of the last maps produced by the Army Air Force as the Air Services Branch of the Army was spun off to become the U.S. Air Force on September 18, 1947.

They were sources for the projection and map climate classifications. The resulting chart is a classic image for modern art. The West Coast of the United States is most interesting showing a composite climate of moderation.
