Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. First edition and printing. In good pictorial boards, with colour illustration of girl and boy playing with dog on beach to front covering red/brown cloth. The spine cloth has black titles and black illustration of girl and boy with spade. The covers are coming away from text block at front; corners and spine ends bumped and frayed; slight edge-wear and quite clean. Illustrated end papers with scene of children flying on books over a tree. The centre of front end papers is damaged with split down middle of illustration and webbing showing; the rear end papers are sound. Christian name of previous owner on front free end paper. Very age-toned end papers. The text block is in better condition - good plus - with firm page block, not tanned or foxed and with just a few marks. Last text page loose. Not paginated. With 12 bright colour plates by various artists, including Harry Rountree and many b/w line drawings etc. Without jacket. Heavy. Please contact us for cost of postage if shipping outside the UK.
