Figaro in Chesterfield is a rare anti-Tory weekly pamphlet, with the last issue of No 47 October 31, 1835 present. It was a mixture of newspaper and pamphlet, but spent most of its time in what could be scathing attacks on its enemies, of which there were seemingly many. It was described by Pendleton and Jacques in their 'Old and new Chesterfield' book (of 1903) as a 'very scathing publication, trouncing friend as well as foe? If published now "Figaro" would have been chin high in writs for libel'. Size approx 22 x 13.5 cm.
