Hörbuch (DVD). 1. Auflage. Z : DVD-video with 16-page booklet - images 4 music, in this case the merger of digital images and worlds of sound, is the programmatic principle underlying the collaboration between the Ars Electronica Center and the renowned American conductor and pianist Dennis Russell Davies, a working relationship that began in 2003. This DVD documents a truly fascinating experiment in the contemporary synthesis of sound and visual imagery, a continuously developing process. Les Enfants Terribles, a work by Philip Glass, and Piano Phase, written by Steve Reich, are interpreted by Dennis Russell Davies and Maki Nemekawa on two pianos. Media artists Dietmar Offenhuber, Norbert Pfaffenbichler/Lotte Schreiber, and Casey Reas have created realms of digital imagery to accompany Steve Reich's original sound material and Martin Wattenberg for Philip Glass's piece.
