Temple Bar Engraving with aquatint. A view of the entrance to the City of London, Temple Bar. The print is dedicated to Alderman William Pickett, a supporter of the freed slave Olaudah Equiano and later the Lord Mayor of London, who had put forward a plan for the removal of Temple Bar in 1789, in order to make the western entrance into the city easier.
