The leaflet states that the AuSable Chasm Company has "just completed an elegant hotel. One of the finest in the whole northern section." The 120-room four-story Hotel AuSable Chasm, built in 1896, was destroyed by fire on 2…5 September 1950. It overlooked a major upstate New York tourist attraction, the AuSable Chasm, a dramatic sandstone gorge about two miles long often referred to as the "Little Grand Canyon of the East." Not in Cole (1976). Two tiny ink spots, a very good copy. (#167222).
