The original maroon cloth has gilt lettering on the spine as bright as if just issued; spine ends are gently bumped. The creamy interior is fresh, crisp, and completely clean; top-edge is maroon. The unclipped dustjacket is quite sunned, especially on the spine, with two tiny chips and a closed tear. [Visible in one of the five images of the actual book.] This is "the first full-length biographical study of the great philosopher; the outcome of long research and of a happy combination of circumstances."---from the dustjacket flap.
