Zustand: Fair. 1894. No Edition Remarks. 334 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth. Moderate foxing and tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters and hinges causing some looseness to binding but pages and boards remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with noticeable tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with mild splitting and crushing to ends.

Number 14 of an edition limited to 40 copies printed on Japanese vellum. 8vo, red crushed morocco, two imitation raised bands, gilt stamped author and date to spine, title to front cover. Edges rubbed and soiled with some leather lost, owner's name to FFEP, front hinge splitting at both ends but still sound; very clean interior contents. Short-lived series, appears to have included only Ralph Waldo Emerson and Marcus Aurelius in addition to the present volume.
