Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book centers around Indonesia during the colonial era and documents the treaties and conventions made between 1890 and 1896 by the Dutch and indigenous rulers of the Dutch East Indies. It provides historical context to help readers understand the power dynamics between the Dutch and local rulers during that period and the way in which the Dutch gradually expanded their authority and influence through these agreements. The agreements touched upon trade, the governance of territories, the administration of justice, and the management of ports. The book also explores the political and legal implications of these treaties, including the issue of whether or not they met the requirements for recognition under international law. The author brings to light the complex and often fraught relationship between the Dutch and the peoples of the Dutch East Indies during this era, providing valuable insights into the region's colonial past. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
