Ann Briegleb war Ethnomusikologin an der University of California und Leiterin von deren Ethomusicology Archives und später mit Rolf Schuursma verheiratet, Chefbibliothekar und Historiker an der Erasmus Universität, Rotterdam und Direktor der Foundation for Film and Science in Utrecht. Beide waren Direktor bzw. Vizedirektor des "International Association of Sound Archives (IASA)" und Herausgeber des "Phonographic Bulletin" der IASA. Ulf Scharlau (1943-2021) war ein deutscher Musikwissenschaftler und leitete seit 1973 das Schallarchiv des SDR (Süddeutscher Rundfunk) bzw. SWR (Südwestrundfunk - nach dessen Zusammenlegung mit dem SWF/Südwestfunk). Später wurde er Hauptabteilungsleiter Dokumentation und Archive desselben.
